If you look at my handy little budgeting app on my phone, “Food” takes a large percentage of my spending. And why shouldn’t it? This city is full of coffee, full of treats, full of little nooks and crannies in which to cuddle up with a book, or a laptop, or even a crocheting project. Sometimes, when things can feel overwhelming, all you need are some mini donuts and a friend along for the ride (or not) and it just seems like it’s going to be alright.

Pictured, from top: Latte, Courier Coffee; Leftover Thanksgiving pie, coffee in the cat mug, Morris House; Dark Chocolate Cream Pie (holy whoa), Random Order Coffeehouse & Bakery, Cafe au lait at the original Stumptown on Division; Mini donuts (apple cider, nutella, and sea salt-honey) and a spicy chai latte at Pip’s Original; Spiked eggnog ice cream smashed between two gluten free chocolate chip cookies at Ruby Jewel on North Mississippi; Chai Tea Latte and a peanut butter amaranth bar at Townshend’s Tea; Gluten free Apple-Marionberry pie and a big mug of coffee at Bipartisan Cafe in the Montavilla neighborhood; Sunday morning at Morris House with Pumpkin Coffee Cake, coffee with lots of cream, and cards to write.

Peace,

Anna
